Herbal tinctures are a great way to ingest herbs, mushrooms, and roots while getting their fullest medicinal and healing properties.
There are endless different types of tinctures that you can make. But to not overwhelm yourself, just pick 2-3 to start out with. For me, stress and sleep/relaxation are the biggest areas in my life that I am always wanting help with.
So for this tutorial I will be using Chaga mushrooms, which is amazing for stress reduction and anxiety reduction., and I also will be using Skullcap and Valerian Root to aid in a restful nights sleep as well as relaxation at the end of the day.
Tinctures are so simple to make, you just need patience!
For both Chaga, and Skullcap/Valerian tinctures, you simply had your mushrooms/herbs to your mason jar. Fill the rest of the way up with your high proof alcohol.
Let them sit in a cool dark place for 6 weeks. Give them a shake every few days or so. Once the 6 weeks is up, strain and bottle them up.
We usually take about 3 dropper fulls. We do not give this to our children, however, I'm sure it would be fine, maybe only giving them 1 dropper full as a dose.
