This is such a great all natural deodorant that works! I have tried so many all natural deodorants that simply don't work for me and I just can't bring myself to use the toxic aluminum filled ones.
So I tried this recipe and with some tweaking, I think I've found the perfect deodorant. And whats even better about it is that I discovered this before my children have started using deodorant, so when they do, they will NEVER have to put on that toxic junk.
To a saucepan or double boiler, add coconut oil, beeswax (or carnuba wax), and shea butter. Turn on medium heat, stirring occasionally until everything is melted together. Off the heat, add your arrowroot, baking soda, and patchouli essential oil. Using a whisk, mix it all together until smooth. Pour into your jar and let harden before use
This makes about a 4 oz mason jar. You can add to deodorant containers for easier application. I have done this with great success!
Luis and I take a swipe of it with our fingers and apply to our pits. I do it after showers and in the mornings before getting dressed. Some may only need to do it after their showers. About a 1/4 teaspoon amount on each pit should do the trick. It lasts a while, smells amazing, and I swear, it actually works!
What’s great about this deodorant, other than it working, is that you know exactly what’s in it, and is much more economical than the other all natural deodorants that might come somewhat close to this recipe.
Why did I choose patchouli oil you ask? After testing many different essential oils in my deordorants, patchouli is the only one that really works for odor elimination for us.
